My Pop Up Blockers are like an electronic fence guarding my computer against those resource-sucking pop up bandits. I am eternally grateful to have my pop up killer because before I had a pop up blocker on my computer, I would stumble upon sites that had so many pop ups that my computer would freeze and have to be rebooted. This was bad news, and it infuriated me.
Usually when this happened, I was doing research for an article and I would lose everything I had written if I had not saved it. Pop ups taught me to save my work more frequently, but that doesn’t mean I want to deal with them either I had to find a pop up stopper fast!
There are many free pop up blockers out there, which seems to guard against pop ups pretty well. I have two on my computer, and they both came with free toolbars that I use on a regular basis. If you want to install free pop up blockers this way, just make sure you are only accepting free pop up blocker downloads from sources you trust and that you read through the terms of use to find out if they are tracking your internet activities as a result of you downloading the toolbar. They do work well at stopping pop ups though, and as long as you trust the source, I encourage you to give them a try.
If you don’t have a good pop up blocker program running, your computer can get bogged down with pop ups, and if you wander on to the wrong site, you might be a bit shocked at what you see in the ads presented to you.
It is especially important to have pop up blockers on your computer if you have children. They could accidentally surf onto a site that has offensive pop up advertising, this is not something you want your children to see. Even if the site has nothing to do with porn activities, you might get porn pop ups anyway. Don’t take a chance get a free pop up killer right away.
You could buy pop up blocker software or pop up programs, but I have never found the need to do so. The free pop up stoppers that I have on my computer work 99% of the time. That’s good enough for me, and I am pleased to be able to work without being bothered by a constant flow of annoying pop ups.
Pop Up Ad designers are always looking for ways to get around pop up blockers, so make sure you look for and install updates for your free ad blockers as they become available. That is the only way to keep one step ahead of those irritating pop ups.
